Algonquin Township Highway Department's main function is to maintain Township roads that are not located within any village boundaries. We are responsible for resurfacing, patching and snow plowing more than 55 miles of township roads.

Where necessary, we provide lighting at major intersections. Our crews are also kept busy repairing
and replacing the more than 800 road signs throughout the township.

Algonquin Township Road District encompasses all or parts of ten (10) municipalities:

·         Algonquin
·         Lake in the Hills
·         Fox River Grove
·         Barrington Hills
·         Lakewood
·         Trout Valley
·         Oakwood Hills
·         Port Barrington
